Downloaded playlist downloads music but not pdocasts

My Question or Issue

I have had an issue since the spring update where my downloaded Playlists will automatically download new music added but will not download podcasts. 

 

I have done the full reinstall clearing app spotify files multiple times. 

 

I can download the podcasts that are on the Playlist by pressing the download button on each episode in the Playlist. 

 

Please help.

Thanks for posting in the Community.

 

I tried replicating this experience on my Samsung phone, but could do it, as the podcast got automatically downloaded together with the songs. Let's get a few answers.

 

Are you using a Wi-Fi network or mobile data for the download?

 

Have you tried a different mobile device or a different account on your mobile device?

 

Is this happening only with particular playlists or all playlists are affected?

I have created a smaller version of the Playlist in question. It looks like the combination of songs, podcasts, and podcasts with embedded songs is causing the issue. 

 

When I download this playlist only the episode of Bandsplain and the album from coheed download. The other podcasts don't download automatically. If manually downloaded they remain downloaded. 

 

Please let me know what you experience.

Would you mind asking a friend or a relative to log in to their account on your phone to check if the same happens with a different account?

 

On another note, could you let us know the exact OS and the Spotify version of your phone?
