Downloading over cellular even when it's told not to

Since I've gotten my new phone,  spotify has tried to download Playlists even when I've told the app to not allow this,  setting the offline mode does stop it,  but that's not exactly elegant,  and the other way is to turn off data entirely on the phone or quit spotify,  but none of those are helpful if I don't notice it's started the download and drunk 500mbs of my data

As a first step, we recommend running a clean reinstall of the app by following these steps. This can be helpful to get rid of any corrupted files that might be causing trouble. Make sure to restart your phone afterwards.

Then, go to the app's settings and make sure that Download using cellular is toggled off. It's also worth checking in your phone's settings menu that there aren't any extra permissions or toggles enabled for Spotify to download data without WiFi.
