Issue has been started today.

 

It looks like this:

  1. Open a Spotify app
  2. Start playing some music
  3. Switch to any other app with music still playing in the background
  4. Lock (turn off) screen
  5. After some time (30min maybe?) return to the app
  6. Now huge advertising of Duo Plan is showing on the top of the app in every app section
  7. Close button is not working at all
  8. Force stop/close app in Android app settings
  9. Go to 1, repeat

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

 

We really appreciate the video you kindly sent us. We could not replicate this on our side. In that sense, we recommend you perform a clean reinstall of the Spotify app on your device. By doing that, the app can be up-to-date, and you can make sure the cache is not leading to this behavior. You can see the steps for a clean reinstall here.

 

If the above doesn't do the trick, we'd like to gather some additional info. Please send us:

  • The exact Spotify version you're running on your device.
  • Does this happen just when you've had the app in the background for 30 minutes or more?
