Files added from local no longer stream

Files added from local no longer stream

I've got a premium subscription and recently I reset phone.

I hadn't yet resynced all my music and went to play my main playlist at a friends house using the phone. Barely any tracks work.

I discovered nearly all the songs are not streamable on the phone, and whilst of course playable on the desktop app, most are no longer linking through. As in it's like Spotify doesn't recognise them in its own catalog, so the album and artist name are both greyed out. I understand this works in this way when the tracks are not available - but all of these songs are in there if I search for them manually.

Oddly, some songs I have on local are still linking through to the artist and album etc but a major majority no longer are. Previously Spotify would match these unsynced files to their streaming equivalents, but this seems to no longer be the case?

It makes my playlist somewhat useless as should I want to stream it from another computer or share it with friends..barely anything will play even though all of the songs are available on Spotify! 😞

If anyone can shed light on this or has a fix, that'd be great!

If you did a factory reset, you will need to redownload any offline music, including your local files.

Completely understand that, that's not the issue.

Songs that are added to the library from local which ALSO exist on spotify are no longer streamable when previously they were.

As in previously, spotify seemed to be able to cross reference the meta data to play whichever version (local or not) was available. It no longer does this.
