My Question or Issue
Since the last update, sometimes the gapless does not work properly on my Samsung A13. No problem on my chromebook with the same songs.
I've tried to turn off the canvas to see if this could help (as this device is not very powerful) but it didn't fix the problem.
Help !😁
Hey @studiocricket,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.
This type of issue is commonly related to some damaged cache stored on your device. In this case, we'd first recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps in this article. This is often an overlooked step, but it’s more thorough than a quick one and can be helpful in getting rid of any cache that might be causing trouble.
If the issue persists, would you mind checking on a different device (using your own account) to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can borrow one from a friend or family member to test it out.
Lastly, include in your next response the OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.
Hope this helps. We'll be on the lookout.
After a clean reinstall, the issue still persists randomly : on the brand new King Gizzard album, the transition between the first and second songs was seamless but not between the second and the third. It's a very little gap but still noticeable.
I've tried on pc, on my Chromebook (with the Android app), on my wife's Galaxy 03, the problem did not occur.
I'm on Android 13 with Spotify 8.8.44.527.

My Question or Issue
Hello. Lately I've been experiencing issues with gapless playback on my Samsung phone. Issue started some time at the beginning of June. Gapless playback I not working properly. Randomly I can hear pauses between songs. It looks like sometimes it works but sometimes it doesn't. I tried couple of devices, headphones and it seems to be an issue only on that device. I tried clean reinstall but it didn't help. Also, I tried disabling gapless playback and turning it back on, and I noticed that when it's turned on the gaps are smaller compared to when it's turned off, so it means that it works but not fully. There was no Android update directly before or shortly before it started to occur so I believe this is a bug in Spotify app. I hope that's all information that you need. Thanks in advance.
Hey folks!
Apologies for the delayed response here.
Have you checked your battery optimization settings by any chance?
Make sure that Spotify is set as an exception in any battery- or memory-optimizing services on your Samsung phones 🙂
Tip: This page might be useful in this endeavor and can assist in finding where the issue lies 🙌🏼
Should you require any further assistance with this issue, you can also try contacting the Samsung support folks.
Keep us posted on how things go!
Hi,
Even with the battery optimization turned off, the problem occurs on some songs. It's completely random, because it's not always the same songs.
Thanks in advance for the help !
Hey @studiocricket,
Thanks for your reply.
Would you mind asking a friend or a relative to log in to their account on your phone to see if they can replicate this with their own account?
On another note, sending us a screen recording of the issue happening would come in handy. You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to see it).
Lastly, as @Vasil mentioned, it's worth reaching out to the manufacturer to see if they can help with additional troubleshooting steps.
Keep us posted on how it goes.
Sorry for the delay, I was on holiday with a bad connection. Here's a video of the bug :
As you can hear, there is a very little gap between Converge and Witchcraft, but a bigger one between Witchcraft and Gila Monster.
I will try this week-end with one of my family account on my device, but I will need to recover their password, as no one can remember it...😁
Hi @studiocricket,
Thanks for the useful video!
We're still unable to reproduce this behavior on our end. Did you try with another account on your Galaxy A13? You can ask your wife to log in on your phone. Does this occur over Wifi as well or only with mobile data?
As for the Family account, if you need any help remembering the login details check out this article.
We'll be on the lookout for your reply.
Cheers!
Hi Yordan, I was able to give a try with my wife's account, and the bug still occurs (between Supercell and Converge, and between Witchcraft and Gila Monster) :

It occurs over wifi and on mobile data, with and without downloaded album.
Thanks for your help !
Thanks for the update @studiocricket!
In that case the issue could be related to your device. Is the Sound quality set to Very High in the app? You can try lowering it to see if it would have any effect on the song transitions. Feel free to also experiment with the Auto-adjust quality setting by toggling it on/off.
Lastly, it's worth checking if there are any system updates available for your phone. Make sure also that you're running the latest version of Spotify.
Let us know how it goes.
