How to Play my local music files that are stored on my Android device

I thought Spotify mobile app would automatically scan for my music on my device. The only info I could find said I need to use the desktop app to put them in a playlist then sync it to all devices. What do I do if I don't have a computer. All my music is stored on a external hard drive and I just use a OTG cable to put it on my phone. Please help me play my music with Spotify. I was excited to be able to use it on ps4, ps3 and psvita.  But mostly to play my music collection.

Hello @karikrum.

The only way to add local music to Spotify is by syncing the files to your device from a computer. Unfortunately there's currently no other way to do that.
