Issues in keeping storage on SD card after restart (Galaxy S7)

When my GS7 restarts, Spotify has a very odd behavior. Sometimes it will not recognize the SD card and lose access to all stored music. Some other times it will automatically transfer all my music from SD card to the phone storage, which will take me a long time to transfer back when I realize that.

Over the last month that I have used the Spotify service, I have had to re-download my music for offline availability once a week!

Any idea what causes this behavior and how to stop it?

No.  I tried the new beta version that some said fixed the problem but I still have the same issue unfortunately.
