My Question or Issue

The latest update (version 8.8.80.599) has made it so that the app is almost unusable on Android. I open it up and it takes forever to even load anything to select. You basically can't search anything without it taking genuinely 3+ mins to load. My playlists have weird interfaces that's constantly switching appearance. When playing music, when each song is done it takes nearly 30 seconds or longer of silence to play the next song. When trying to pause music to do something else the song just doesn't even pause in the first place and when trying to resume a song if it does end up pausing does not work. You have to completely close and reopen the app every single time to do so and is incredibly frustrating. And yes, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app 3 separate times in the past week and I have tried to research the issue on these forums and elsewhere. The same events occur even when driving. I have not noticed any issues, however with the desktop version and I have resorted to using that when I can instead of the app. I really hope this is resolved in the next update and very soon as it is incredibly frustrating to deal with. Thanks for reading!

(The images show what the app is like when first opened up and when you try to search)

I do have the same issue.

would there be a way to get the previous version installed?

Hey @Kookiekoo56 & @Elkie1,

Thanks for posting on the Community!

Just to confirm, have you tried a clean reinstall instead of a regular one? We also recommend always keeping the app up-to-date as that ensure that Spotify has the latest improvements and security patches. A clean reinstall will ensure you're using the latest version and clear any stored cache as well.

It's also a good idea to give the device a quick restart before opening the newly installed app.

Should the issue persist, let us know your device model and its current OS version. We'll be happy to investigate further.

Yes I did but it didn't solve the issue

Hey @Elkie1,

Thanks for getting back to us.

This sounds a bit odd and we'll do our best to help you out here.

Would you mind testing this with a different account? If a family member has a Spotify account, it'd be great to ask them to log in on your device to see if they'll experience the same. This will help us understand if it's account related or not.

We'd also recommend giving this a try on a different network, for example try to connect to another Wi-Fi or test with a hotspot network (if possible).

In case the issue persists, could you please provide the details that @Elena requested earlier in this thread? Additionally, sending us some screenshots would come in handy as well. You can attach them to your next response by using the Insert image option in the post editor. Make sure not to send any private info.

Hope this helps. We'll be on the lookout for your reply.
