Licensing restrictions on my own darn files

Licensing restrictions on my own darn files

A couple of years ago, when the subscription overhaul was announced, I was pissed at the idea that if I switched to free, I'd have play restrictions placed on my own local files in the android app. I was assured by a CSR that that wouldn't be happening, that Spotify would never place restrictions on users playing their local files...

Well, I didn't believe them, so I've only just updated the app. And yep - I have limited skips, can't queue and can only shuffle when I am playing LOCAL FILES. Music which Spotify has absolutely no commercial interest in.

This is purposelessly irritating, and I'm not impressed that I was lied to by Spotify employees.

A lot changes in 2 years, escpecially in the music business. Rather than synching local files, why not just copy the MP#s over and use another music player?
