My Question or Issue

Hello fellow Spotify users, I have some weird experience using the Spotify's newest feature, lyrics, and I would like to hear your opinion and some possible fixes.

Now for what's happening, I have access to two Spotify accounts, one premium, one free, and I tested lyrics which each of them on the devices mentioned above. The results were quite shocking. (Just for information purposes the song used for determining if lyrics were working were "22s" by "KOKO" and "Underwater" by "NIVERSO" both of which do have working synced lyrics.)

 

Spotify free:

S9: YES

S6: NO

Tablet: YES

Desktop: YES

Web: YES

 

Spotify Premium:

S9: NO

S6: YES

Tablet: NO

Desktop: YES

Web: YES

 

As you can see, just by switching accounts the lyrics are being almost randomly switched on and off, I can't see any pattern in them working and not, not to mention that on the premium account that costs me monthly 6€ lyrics aren't working more frequently than on the free one!

I'm clueless on how to fix this issue, I tried a clean reinstall of Spotify on all devices where lyrics weren't working, I even tried a factory reset on the S6 phone, but the lyrics still wouldn't show up with the free account.

I'm actually tired of this cr*p with some part of Spotify not working, or the whole Spotify not working, 'cause why would it, and be most likely switching to Tidal or some other streaming service soon if this continues. If you have any idea on what's causing it, or even how to fix it, any help would be most appreciated, thank you.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community and welcome!

 

Since the Lyrics feature was just recently released, it may take some time to be available in all devices and accounts, so what you described about the feature not available in all devices is something that can occur, and this vary across accounts.

 

What you can try in the devices that don't have the feature enabled, is to restart the app twice in a row. This may sound odd, but it's how the app forces a resync with the device and may enable the feature.

 

If the feature is still missing, we suggest reaching out to our Support team through any of these channels so they can take a better look at your account and check if they can further assist you.
