My Question or Issue

I have been experiencing many issues with audio playback, Now Playing information, and the Spotify widget for Android for at least the past week. I am aware that some of these have been previously reported, but I am posting here again for visibility. The issues include the following:

 

- The Now Playing bar in the Spotify app sometimes does not update the title of the currently playing track after selecting a new track.
- The Android Spotify widget does not update art or title when playing a new track.
- The Android Spotify widget play/pause button often stops working.
- Now Playing track title and playback buttons do not display on lock screen.
- The Spotify app randomly pauses and/or stops audio playback, especially when other apps such as navigation require audio focus.
- The Spotify app does not pause or transfer audio focus to other apps when expected, resulting in Spotify music playing over Twitter/YouTube/Instagram videos, etc.
- Sound quality seems worse than expected, even when selecting High or Very High quality in Streaming or Download options.

 

What I have tried

- Restarting the Spotify app

- Deleting the cache in Spotify app (resolves most issues, but only for a few minutes at a time).

- Rebooting the device

- Deleting and reinstalling the Spotify app

There is some ongoing issue with the Android app at the moment. Please add your feedback and vote to the official thread. It will help to resolve the issue faster.
