Multitasking with Spotify and Endomondo. Spotify drops out

Multitasking with Spotify and Endomondo. Spotify drops out

I bought a new mobile a month ago. Xperia Go (ST27i) with Android 2.3.7.

I choosed this mobile because its made for a lot of data capacity and is water proof and can be used outdoors in all kind of weather. (I live in Norway.....) The main apps am using is the Sportstracker Endomondo t o track my workouts while listening to Spotify.

The weird thing is that Spotify is dropping out several times during a run witch is pretty annoying trying to beat a record using the energyboost I get from the music.

What to do? If I can't listen to Spotify while using Endomondo, then I am going to unsubscribe. Because am only using it on my workouts.

I have a Spotify premium subscription and the version is: 0.5.2.87

What do you mean by "dropping out"? The first thing I can think about is that you are streaming songs over 3G. If the 3G signal gets weak the data speed will get really slow and ultimately causes your music to stop. Have you tried to make a playlist for your workout and download it on your phone? That way you could be listening music without being depended on your 3G signal strength.

Spotify is quitting. The app is shutting down. Do you know what i mean? And the playlists is downloaded and am using it in offline mode.

But I returned the mobile to the store and they are trying to fix it now. I used both of the apps at the same time with both my HTC Desire and Iphone without any problems. And been doing it for years.....

So am looking forward to get it back from the store. Hoping the solved the problem. Otherwise I will return the mobile and demand another one 😉

I understand your problem now that you were more specific about it. Unfortunately I have no idea what could be causing the problem. I also use Spotify and Endomondo at the same time on my HTC Desire Z with Android 2.3.7 and it works great. I hope you get the problem solved.

BTW, there was just recently an update with fixes for bugs and crashes (version 0.5.3.56). You should check that out. One bug that was fixed was that some special characters could make app crash. Atleast some people in Norway and Sweden seemed to have this problem. Maybe you had æ, ø, å or something more obscure characters in song names or in your playlist name that made the app crash.
