Music stops playing once you exit app

I never had this issue before. I used to be able to use other apps and send email while listening to music on the app. Now when I play music and exit the app to use another app seconds later the music stops playing. When I go back to the Spotify app it shows as if it's still playing but it's not. I would have to pause it and press play again. This isn't normal. I even checked to see if the app needs an update but thats not the case. Can someone please help.

That's odd. Can you go to your device Settings > Battery > Low Power Mode and check if that it's grayed out?

Hi Maria, 

Thanks for reaching out. At first I did have my phone on power saving mode and when I turned it off I still had the same response with the app. Still not sure what could it be.
