My Question or Issue

Music pauses mid-stream for 3 seconds, every 30-60 seconds.
Persistent streaming only causes the app to later on crash completely.

I've had this issue before, years ago, on the same device, and now it's back for some reason.
All the latest updates, cleared cache, reinstalled, restarted device, I've done everything, alright? I'm an Windows Technician and former smartphone service technician, I know what to do. But it doesn't resolve the issue.

So here I am. I'm paying for an app that doesn't play music and doesn't keep itself in a working or functional state.
Where's the solution? Nowhere to be found, scoured the web, nothing other than the same old nonsense which never works.

How and when does Spotify intend to resolve this issue for the foreseeable future?
It's unacceptable that these issues return on a frequent basis. The app is more often unusable than it is usable, albeit my usage is fairly low. Could it be because the app so rarely ever works well?
Please fix this, or I am forced to abandon Spotify for another music streaming service.

Hey @Daggz90,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

We appreciate all the details you've included. In this case, to continue with the troubleshooting, would you mind checking if your device has an SD card inserted? If so, remove it, restart your device, and try again to see if it makes any difference.

If not, would you mind checking on a different device (using your own account) to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can borrow one from a friend or family member to test it out.

We'll be on the lookout.

Hi,

This only happens on the phone during my testing so far.
I just don't understand why something which has been working flawlessly for months, needs to be broken by development and updates and then MY TIME has to be spent in order to resolve the newly introduced issues.
Can you please just stop releasing updates which breaks things that work fine?
I don't want more features, I don't want forced popups the first thing I do when I start the app.
I just want to listen to my playlists of music or podcasts. That's it. Leave me to use the app the way I want to, without bothering me with popups of news, suggested content, new features, buggy updates which breaks the most fundamental purpose of the application itself; playing music.

I haven't done anything to cause this issue, I don't use my phone that much but how hard could it be to stream music to your phone in 2023? I've had more issues in the past 2-3 years than I had in 2014 when I was streaming the music in freaking China for 6 months.

So you're trying to say now that the issue is that I have an SD-card attached to the external storage slot on my phone?
How is that even remotely possible to cause an issue with the music playing continuously over the network?
No other app does this, ever. YouTube streams 1080p content over 4G like it's a tap of running water. But a simple audio stream from spotify can't continue for more than 30 seconds without pausing for 3 seconds?

What the actual...? Are you serious?

Still no solution?
