My Issue:

The Spotify app hasn't been able to connect in months. This issue is independent of the phone's connection. It happens on all WiFi connections and also when using 4G/LTE. Upon opening the app, the home screen is mostly blank with a message reading, "sorry, something went wrong. That didn't work. Please have another go." The search screen says, "Something went wrong. Have another go?" Under Library, I can see my playlists and the songs in them, but anything I try to play just says "Loading... * Loading..." and nothing ever plays.

What I've already tried (I've done most of these things multiple times.):

  • Making sure offline mode is disabled.
  • Rebooting the phone.
  • Clearing Spotify's cache.
  • Clearing Spotify's data.
  • Logging out of Spotify, then back in.
  • Uninstalling Spotify and reinstalling it.
  • Removing all linked devices in my account.
  • Granting all permissions that the app wants.
  • Disabling battery optimization for the Spotify app.
  • Removing extraneous "apps," such as Facebook.
  • Logging into the "test" account provided to me by Spotify support.

Spotify works well for me on Linux and Windows computers, so it isn't an account issue.

Any tips would be appreciated because it's getting pretty frustrating being completely unable to use Spotify on my phone. At this point, it's been months since I was able to play any music on the Android app.

Thank you!
