My Question or Issue

I've been finding that Spotify (seemingly) randomly doesn't start playing between when I'm in my car and at home.

I've since realised it's when I'm switching between 4G and wifi.

- Listening in the car on 4G

- Get home, get out of the car (Spotify stops playing when Bluetooth disconnects from the car)

- Enter the house, wifi connects automatically

- Attempt to play music ...... "No internet connection available". No music plays.

In fact sometimes I don't even get that error. It just won't play, playlists grey out and nothing works until I restart Spotify. Other times it will take a few minutes then resume playing - and cannot be stopped with the in-app controls.

Clearly switching between connections trips up Spotify.

Can anyone else repeat this? Just play on 4G for a bit, pause the music, connect to wifi then try playing again.

Spotify?

Hey @canvy,

Thanks for reaching out to us about this.

You mentioned in the steps you listed that the issue is triggered after Spotify stops playing when Bluetooth disconnects from the car, but you then suggested that we should actively pause playback in the app first.

Could you let us know if you see any difference between:

  1. Allowing Spotify to disconnect automatically from in-car Bluetooth audio system, and
  2. Actively pausing Spotify and switching off Bluetooth before leaving the car?

Could you also try the above, only this time pausing playback in the app before disconnecting from Bluetooth in each instance?

Thanks - keep us posted!
