No internet connection on wi-fi

No internet connection on wi-fi

When using a wi-fi connection on my samsung galaxy s22, Spotify search does not work and I get "no internet connection" displayed in the app
Switching to mobile data makes the problem go away
Additionally, while on wi-fi, asking Google assistant to search for something on Spotify seems to work and displays the search results in the app.
Eg., Searching for Eddie Val Halen in the search bar returns nothing and i get the message "no internet connection"
But
Asking Google assistant to "search Eddie Val Halen on Spotify" returns the desired results.

I have tried uninstalling and a clean reinstall but the issue persists.

I am able to use Spotify over the same wi-fi on a different Android phone (OnePlus 5T).

Please help.

Hi there @jimjam1337

Thanks for reaching out and for providing all this info. Does this issue only affect the search? Can you still play music or podcasts while on Wi-FI? When did this issue first start occuring? Please also send us some screenshots or a video of the behaviour, that will greatly help us investigate this.

Keep us posted.

I am also having the same issues. Samsung Galaxy S10+.

Hey there,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

Could you check the mobile data settings on the affected devices and see if Spotify has access to mobile data and wi-fi? This looks like a settings issue to me, if a different phone works.

Let us know how that went,

Cheers!
