Offline playlist problems - can you duplicate?

Offline playlist problems - can you duplicate?

I've been going back and forth with tech support, but no help there, so would love it to see if you all have the same issue or not.  I have a probelm where Spotify's current version is trying to playback songs in offline mode that are not already downloaded.

To recreate this,

  1. Download a playlist (make 'available offline') or two
  2. Put spotify into offline mode
  3. Navigate to Your Music / Songs / Shuffle Play
  4. See how many songs will play.

I have a few hundred songs downloaded, but it will only play the same 3-4 songs.  I can go into the playlist and can shuffle those songs ok, but when I'm biking, I like to have a variety of music, and previous versions of Spotify didn't have this problem - it knew to only play songs that were downloaded.  I've used a test acount provided by spotify, my old iOS device, and my current Android device (LG G3, 5.0.1) with the current version of android.

Love to hear if anyone else is having this problem.

I think I found the solution to this problem.  Playlists saved for offline use also have to be marked 'Saved to your Music'.  I don't get the purpose for that check mark when you already have Followed and saved the playlist for Available Offline - it's an aweful lot of redundancies for the same basic purpose, but it fixed my problem anyhow.
