Open Spotify in foreground on Google TV (Android 11)

My Question or Issue

Hello, is there a way to open Spotify on Google TV always in foreground when i send music to the TV through Google Cast?

At this moment when you send music through Google Cast the music start "in background" and if you're watching a TV live channel, or you just stay in the Home screen, Spotify does not open completly and stay in foreground as i excepted but just play music in background, showing a mini preview of the now playing.

Also, when you manually open Spotify to play music, is there a way to stop the application asking for the actitavtion of ambient mode? (in which there is no artist poster, only a small album cover)

And the last question, if i remove the Spotify app from Google TV i can send music through Google Cast that start in foreground (as i want) but i'm not only missing all the app options, the screensaver kicks in after a while, removing the artist poster on the display and showing random images.

Whoever can help with those annoiance would be really appreciated.

The former functions you mentioned are not possible at the moment, but we've just reopened our ideas submissions, so you're welcome to submit those as suggestions, provided someone else hasn't requested them before. As for the last question, that is related to the TVs screensaver settings so have a look at those to troubleshoot it.

Hello Joan and thank you for your answer.

Unfortunately the last point is connected to the way "the Spotify cast" is seen by Android ("a background process"), that's the reason why the ambient mode kicks in.

Google TV does not let you control the ambient mode and there's no option i can change to stop it, unless i'll decided to disable it completely on a system level, but when a normal "foreground" app is used the ambient mode will never start.
