Phone's not responding when downloading tracks

Phone's not responding when downloading tracks

I am a premium user for last couple of months and this is the only problem I encountered and it is really annoying me. Everytime I try to download my offline lists, when the phone screen goes to sleep, it doesn't open again and phone doesn't respond at all and I have to take the battery off to reboot the phone. When I boot the phone and open Spotify, it wants from me to log in again and all tracks downloaded are gone because it deletes all cache of the app. Sometimes it happens when I listen online music via my earphone too (didn't test without earphones but I'm sure it'd happen again). When the phone's not responding, current track plays until the end but I cannot pause, change track, change the volume or turn the phone screen on during that time. I use Galaxy Nexus with a custom rom of Android 4.4.2 and Spotify is the only app that I have issue so I don't think it's got anything to do with using custom rom. Now I'm downloading music when it's charging and stays awake all the time but it's a temporary solution because all tracks can be deleted some day and I don't want to download same songs over and over again everyday.

Spotify doesn't support custom roms, as you're probably aware. Are you bypassing the 4.4.2 SD card restrictions to store your spotify cache o there?

I'd suggest you try running spotify with the cache in internal storage and see if it behaves any better as a first step in troubleshooting.

Let me know how it works.

My phone doesn't have Sd card so everything is already in the internal storage.

Ah ok, have you tried reinstalling spotify?

Downloaded the new version when the security problem occured. Does it count? It was happening before, it's happening now. Nothing changed

Reinstalling both the desktop client and the android app would give a good base to start from.
