My Question or Issue

Music stops playing 12 seconds after screen is locked.

I did not have this issue with previous version of app, so basically this latest update ruined my app while repairing others?

Hey @AnOl, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a clean reinstall of the app following these steps.

If you're still having trouble, let me know what device this happens on, as well as the current software version. You can also attach a short screen recording if you can of what is happening exactly and I can take a closer look for you.

Let me know how this goes!

Hi!

Restarting and clean reinstalling didn't help. Issue still remains.

This happens on my android phone. I have been using previous versions of
app for over a year in this phone with no problems.
Phone: Blackview 9500, running on android 8.1.0
App: version 8.5.73.824

There ain't a much to record as the music plays normally as long as the
screen is on. As I lock the screen (or let it lock itself) it plays for
that 12 seconds and stops. When I open the screen, Spotify start logo
appears and player resets the song back to the moment the screenlock was
activated.
Interesting anomaly: After full system reset, the first song plays fully
even though the screenlock is on but stops again in the second song @ 12
sec.

A bit frustrated,
but thanks!

Hey there @AnOl,

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community!

Apologies for the delayed response, we just came across this thread. Could you let us know if you’re still having troubles with this?

If you are, we can recommend that you check the phone's battery settings and make sure that Spotify is set as an exception if you're using the battery optimization option.

It's also a good idea to check that Spotify has the permissions to run in the background.

We'll be on the lookout for your answer and we'll see what we can suggest next. Let us know if there's anything else we can do for you in the meantime.
