Ah OK. It sounds like you have shuffle enabled. Tap the bar at the bottom to go to album cover view. At the bottom there's a crossed arrow icon to the left of the play controls. This is the shuffle button and, if it is green then shuffle mode is enabled. Just touch it to turn shuffle off.

I don't have the the shuffle on. Still can't play my playlist in order? What's going on? I have the Premium plan.

Just to confirm, is this happening when logging in with a different device?
Also, could you log out, restart your main device, log back in and tell us if the issue persists?

This was happening to me. Make sure to clear your queue. That worked for me.
This still isnโt working!!! Cannot turn shuffle off for a playlist, all the comments on this thread are wrong. Is this just not something Spotify has figured out??!

Thank you for taking the time to post in this thread. We're sorry that you haven't been able to turn off your shuffle. Let's take a closer look into this.
To start with, can you let us know if you're pressing the green arrow when you start a song in a playlist as this will turn shuffle on automatically. If you do, can you click the first song directly in the playlist to see if the issue persists?
Another useful step to try would be to make sure there's no old cache files causing this by reinstalling the app with the steps provided here.

Thanks for the reply.
If you turn off the Shuffle for a certain playlist and play songs from this playlist by clicking on a title and not the play button, the playlist will be played without shuffle on.
But if you switch to a different playlist, the Shuffle will be again set to ON and you'll have to deactivate it again from the Now Playing bar buttons.
Could you confirm this is the case on your end?

It's important to first find out if you're using a free account or have a Premium subscription. What's the case on your end?
If you're using a Premium account, follow the advise from my previous reply.
If you're using a free account, the Shuffle mode can be deactivated only for certain playlists like the ones from the "Made For You" section. More on that here.

Well that's trash I can't even listen to my playlist in order. I literally put in that order so I can listen to the songs I like in order this new update sucks
Extremely frustrating! I have a premium family account and I am ready to cancel my account. Why is there no easy way to shuffle a playlist? If I click on the current song it takes me to the album which I can shuffle or unshufle but the playlists come with a green play button and a shuffle symbol on. is that play button for the shuffle option only? Not very intuitive. I don't want it shuffled! Anything. Ever.
I have the same problem and it is driving me nuts
I am also a premium subscriber (though other plans are looking increasingly more likely) and have precisely the same issue.
So have had exactly same issue (I am a premium member using Android). However, just accessed Spotify via my windows laptop and the icon for shuffling on/off is there against both the playlist and at the track level.
Miraculously when I now access the playlist on my android device, the icon appear (when they were not present before).
No idea if this is coincidence, but just to be absolutely clear - I have the exact p[problem that others have listed above and now I dont.
