My Question or Issue

I got my kid a smartwatch for Christmas, and we use Spotify a lot, but it ONLY wants to play sound through the watch, I can't disable it, I only have a few options to fix it.

Disable all Bluetooth on the phone to make it stop being stupid.

Choose another Bluetooth device.

Disable Media transfer to the Watch, disables other important features we need, etc. phone calls.

Spotify thinks it's cute and the main character on the phone, and starts to play sound on the watch, i'm frustrated beyond belief.. Why just why? is this even a thing, let me turn this feature off completely which should be the easy fix, the harder one would be to make a Black / white list over devices i want it to connect to. it's simple and a basic feature that should be there.

Spotify don't become Microsoft where "smart is the new stupid".

The Watch in question is.

Denver SWC 372RO (it's a cheap watch.. it's for a kid so yeh)

TL:DR: Spotify play's sound through a Smartwatch, there is no option to get it to disconnect, or permanently ignore the device.

Hey @aka_Sane,

Thanks for reaching out.

If we understood you correctly, your phone defaults to the smart watch as output device when you start playback. Are you able to change the output device to your phone from the Connect picker in the app's Now Playing View?

Can you please check if the same thing happens when you play audio from another app?

Keep us posted.
