Playlists freeze in Spotify app but not in Google Home app

Hi, I've noticed recently that if I listen to Spotify off my Samsung S7 and stream to my CCA, if I add a song to a playlist the app crashes or the google home app seems to over power the Spoitfy app. Example is listening to a playlist, add a new song, then the song will finish, the play list will continue, but the screen wont change app will freeze, but in the google home app the songs continue.
