Please help. Can not see artist or song title when streaming Infiniti Qx80

Please help. Can not see artist or song title when streaming Infiniti Qx80

Hello,

Please help. I have a 2014 Infiniti QX80. I have the Spotify Premium account. The phone that I am streaming from is a Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Up until Saturday when music was streaming from my phone to the car the screen in the car showed the artist and song. Now it does not anymore! This is a pain visually that it doesn't display anymore on the vehicle center display. What can be done to correct this. Has anyone else had that happen all of a sudden. Any thoughts and advise would be appreciated. Are there any patches or tips and tricks to work around this?

Thank you,
Skye

I see you found the relevant bug topic but it seems odd that it suddenly stopped working for  you. Did anything change at all - new firmware, new software?

As you are most likely aware, this is a known bug:

Erm yes, he already posted there as I hinted:)

Thank you for your response. Here is more detail as inquired.

Yes I was getting the metadata UNTIL I was requested by spotify to update the app. It said that I needed to delete the old spotify and use this new one. Once I did that no more metadata when streaming from the phone to my factory head unit. Did the new spotify eliminate this feature? If so that is truly disappointing. Is there a way to work around this? Can Google Music import my spotify tracks that I have downloaded so that I can view the metadata when streaming. Thank you for your time and willingness to help. Oh and yes I am a premium account since 12-2012.

Hope everyone is having a decent Monday. 25 miles and hour winds here in Colorado. 😞

The new spotify version shouldn't be causing this as far as I know. Certainly haven't seen a flood of complaints since it went live. It does however sometimes seem to leave old files on some devices and I'm wondering if that may be the cause of the issue you're seeing.

Could you fully exit spotify then use a file explorer to find and delete a folder called com.spotify.mobile.android.ui which will be under \android\data. Please check both internal and external storage for this. Be careful not to delete the new cache folder called com.spotify.music or you'll have to redownload offline tracks.

Once you have deleted the old folder, relaunch spotify and see if it works any better.

Didn't work at all. Can celled my spotify subscription. Lost a 2 year customer due to something as simple as meta data working for 2 years and then all of a sudden didn't work. Very disappointed in spotify.
