Podcasts Play Initially, But Skip Next Time I Try to Listen

My Question or Issue

I've been having a recurring issue when trying to listen to podcasts. The podcast will be fully downloaded and will begin to play normally. The next time I hit play to continue listening (usually my evening commute) it will immediately jump to another random podcast that has been downloaded. It doesn't even register the initial podcast or begin trying to play it, it just immediately jumps to something else. I'll then leave it for a few days and eventually it'll start to work again. 

I've had this issue a few times and have tried everything from turning data on and off, connecting to Wifi, un-downloading and re-downloading the podcast and doing a complete uninstall and reinstall of the app, but nothing seems to fix it. 

Has anyone had a similar issue and has figured out why it does this? It sure throws a wrench into my commute when it starts being weird!
