Running playlists crash app on Nexus 5

I have had Spotify for about a year. I like to use pre-populated running playlists. In the last month or two, I can no longer use them. I get the prompt where it is looking for my running pace. The steps/min screen comes up, and regardless of whether I select Skip or let it try to find my pace, it crashes silently and I am back at my home screen.
