Same wrong song when changing playback device

Same wrong song when changing playback device

The Spotify Connect just keeps playing the same song since weeks, when I change the playback from PC (outside the local network) to my Google Nest Mini (Google Chromecast). When I change the playback from Android (inside the local network) to my Google Nest Mini, it works as expected.

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome. 

 

If you haven't yet, we'd suggest you perform a clean reinstall of the app on your computer. By doing that the app can be up-to-date and you can make sure the cache is not leading to this inconvenience. You can follow the steps here to do it.

 

If this issue should persist, we'd like to gather some additional info. Please send us:

  • The exact Spotify version you're running on your computer.
  • The make/model and OS.
  • We really appreciate the time you took to make a video, unfortunately, we don't have access to Dropbox, so we couldn't visualize it. Would you mind sending it again? You can attach the video in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and make it public, so we can watch it.
  • Did you notice if this started to happen after a specific event, such as an OS update?
  • Are you experiencing issues while using the Connect feature on your computer aside from what you kindly mentioned?

My Question or Issue

For aprox. 2 weeks now I have this weird bug. Whenever I play something on Spotify on device the app on a different device shows me the correct device where I play audio on, but with an incorrect song. It is locked onto the song "iDisco" by "Farin Urlaub Racing Team". After some while (aprox. 5 minutes) the app will refresh the playing song on the different device to match the actual song. When you restart the app where you aren't playing music in the bug starts from the beginning. 

I was able to replicate it on all 3 mentioned devices. Reinstalling the apps on all devices didn't yield any results.

Does someone have an idea?
