Hi all,
The latest update for Samsung Gear S3 watch has completely broken the app. I'm currently unable to play any saved offline songs - there's no option anymore, just a load of suggested playlists. The only thing that works currently is remote playback.
I use my Samsung watch in the gym and currently can't listen to any offline songs - only remote playback, which kind of defeats the purpose of having the watch as I'm having to just take my phone into the gym. I've seen that someone has posted a review on the Spotify app store regarding this issue so I assume it is impacting numerous people?
Thanks in advance!
Hey there @Fieldy618,
Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. We moved your post from the Idea Exchange to the help boards where it fits better.
Keep in mind that Spotify no longer supports Galaxy Gear devices as the service for these is being ended by Samsung. For this specific case, we can only suggest upgrading to a different Galaxy Watch that is supported.
If anything else comes up, the Community will be here.
Cheers!
So understood they may no longer be supporting it, but it was working fine and something spotify did last week broke it so that it doesn't work. Can't they just find that and undo that particular stuff up?
Did you find a workaround or response anywhere that address this ? i think my issue is the same
Unfortunately not. Like most issues with spotify updates it just gets ignored... The moderator clowns also seems to have deleted my lengthy post with a temp workaround
So I ended up uninstalling and clearing cache for more room, then using one of the spotify downloaders on the web. Can't remember which one but not they only do 100 songs at a time, one was slightly better in that you could "load more" and I just mentally kept track of how many times I'd clicked it each run to work out what "page" I was on.
I then used mp3tag to rename all the files, which was actually quite straight forward.
Then just dragged them onto the watch manually. Ended up getting around 700 songs, which for me is enough for variance whilst running.
Good luck
How do you download your playlists from a Premium account & listen to them offline on a Galaxy Watch 3? The Watch App seems to have changed recently & I can no longer do it. Thanks in advance for any help given.
Unfortunately it appears that it can no longer be done, even if you're like me and pay for premium. The responses also appear to be sorry but we know we broke it but can't help you.
Only workaround was to use a spotify downloader online and manually download the songs from a playlist and then transfer onto watch like a us, then using the inbuilt music player app
