Samsung TV App - TV model #QN75QN90BAFXZC

Samsung TV App - TV model #QN75QN90BAFXZC

Spotify randomly stopped working on my brand new Samsung TV. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, logging out and back in, hard reset of TV and WiFi. My TV firmare, iPhone, iOS Spotify, and Samsung TV Spotify are all up-to-date.

I press play on a song, and 2 seconds in (no audio) it skips to another song, then returns to the home menu, then skips back to the playlist screen, then skips to another song, then skips to another song, jumps back to home menu, and so on. Repeating. It only glitches when I press play. If there is nothing "playing" the app works perfectly. Only when I try to play something does it start glitching out.

I've recorded this glitch and can upload a video.

Hi there,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome. We appreciate all the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far.

To begin with, we recommend trying to manually restart the TV. This is a simple process, but can sometimes help. You'll need to unplug your TV's power cord from the wall outlet and then wait around 2 minutes. Then plug your TV back and turn it on. Finally, press the Home button and try using Spotify again.

If that doesn't help, could you let us know if this also happens when you play music from your phone to the TV using Spotify Connect? You can also check with a different Spotify account. If you don't have one, it can be a family member or a friend's account.

On another note, send over the video you mentioned in your next reply. We'll take a look.

We'll be here!

Hi,

I have the same problem on mu SAMSUNG TV, and I think I have tried everything- reconnect to my user/other user, reinstall the app, unplug the TV, remote the app with my phone, and also tried to connet the app from the streamer.

The only way that works for me is to screen miroring my phone on the TV, but thats not fixs the problem with the app.

Hoping you could help me,

Thanks a lot!

Hi @shakedshaul11,

Thanks for your reply in this thread and for the info you shared with us.

Right now we have a similar issue with Spotify on Samsung TVs. Our teams are aware of this behavior and the right folks are looking into this. We'd suggest that you go ahead and check this thread for more info.

If that is the issue you're experiencing, it'd be very helpful if you could take the time to leave a comment with the info requested there.

Let us know if you have any questions.

it's not just Samsung TVs. My chromecast is doing the same, and there's multiple comments in the chromecast play store reporting the same thing. the app is completely unusable.

Man having same issue actually been having same issue for months just haven't had the time to actually look into this...even had a website error happen while trying to write this. What is the problem it's been going on since last year I've done everything on the earth...dammit just crashed again your site....fix your app or I'm leaving period ...stop blaming us and blame your app and fix it ...enough of all the politeness  ..BTW third crash on your website while writing this ...I'm just one person but 120ish a year will hurt a dying app eventually
