Saved albums appearing in my most recently played list do not work

My Question or Issue

Hi Team 

I have noticed a number of very strange additions to the ios app, my "recently played" tracks will not open and play when offline even though they are saved to my phone, i just get a black screen. To get around this i need to search for the album manually and scroll thorugh my entire album list. No way to sort by downloaded albums?
Search function no longer works when offline, again i need to search manually. 

In tandem to this the simple a-z listing has also been removed so that avenue of searching easily has gone. 

I can no longer see a list of my most recently played albums, so if i listen to something then forget the title its gone forever. 

Why is my playlist info about which albums i have downloaded stored online rather than the device? This seems silly as Spotify ceases to work in offline mode.

I have been a member of spotify for years and enjoy the service, please take my comments above as constructive comments and not a moan.
