Thanks for posting in the Community.
The Voice Search feature is only available to Premium subscribers and since it's still being tested, it's not available for all users.
The camera icon you're seeing allows you to scan Spotify Codes as described here.

I am not sure how helping others to find that answer l and accept it as a solution will help anybody.
I have been a $17 a month premier family subscriber for 10 years and for nine of those 10 years there was a little microphone icon in the search box. Now there's a little camera icon. I don't know what the camera icon does and I don't care what it does I miss the little microphone button. There I've introduced myself My name is Kim. Now I get to go pick out crosswalks to prove I'm a human thanks for your help.

My Question or Issue
I am not able to make any speech search in the Spotify app. The microphone icon in the keyboard is deactivated.
Only in this App! Microphone is in all other apps available.
All rights for Spotify are set. I have a iPhone too. In the iPhone the speech input is working.
Any update here? I am a premium user and the microphone is still not working in the app for android. Android 13, latest spotify app

This was part of a test that has now ended. Our tech folks are often trying out and launching improvements to the app. This means you might occasionally see something your friend doesn’t, or get a new feature to try temporarily. Your feedback is important and valuable, so thanks for sharing it here! Rest assured it has been forwarded to the relevant team.
As a workaround you can enable voice search in your keyboard's settings (if supported).
