Shuffle function Galaxy Watch 4

Shuffle function Galaxy Watch 4

Hi.

I have premium Spotify running on my new Galaxy Watch 4.

I have downloaded a playlist with a 100 songs so I can listen ofline when I'm out for a run.

The problem is that the playlist will start from 'song 1' everytime.

If I'm on a 30 min run I'll go through the same 10 songs each time, unless I skip ahead 10, 20, 30, 40 songs each time I go out.

How is the most basic function like 'shuffle' not available... unless of course I'm missing something!?

Thanks

I have the same issue even after an update I found today for Spotify!

Shuffle was a feature on the past watches so I'm not certain why they wouldn't have it. It might be the Wear OS x Tizen merge with different software in some way. If I'm not mistaken the wear os version of Spotify did not have shuffle in the first place, but the Tizen one did? Don't quote me on that... I've never had an OS watch before.

The watch does not "officially" release until tomorrow. Hopefully, there will be a 'day 1' patch for Spotify that will allow us the shuffle feature to be used!

Hi!

We can confirm that the new watches using WearOS currently don't have an option to play the locally stored tracks on shuffle. We've passed this on to the right team here with Spotify to look into this.

There're others that feel just like you and want this feature to be part of the WearOS experience and as such, they've created this idea.

We recommend voting and subscribing to the idea, as we'll be using its thread to keep everyone updated on any developments.

Keep an eye on it, we'll post news as soon as we have them!

I've tried re-installing the app on the phone and watch. What am I doing wrong?

Many thanks

Hey there @prm1971

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.

Just to confirm, are you able to see Your Library on the watch but it's empty or you can't see that section either?

Additionally, sending us a video of the steps you're following would come in handy. You can send a link to it or attach it using the Insert Video option in the post editor.

Keep us posted.

Hi,

I see nothing regarding my library, just the sections that I mentioned in my post.

Hi again,
I see the downloads section.

here is a pic.20210829_203410.jpg

Hi again,

Now I see "your shows" but it only contains 5 podcasts.

Still no search or browse option so hard to understand the logic of the app.

Hi there @prm1971,

Thanks for keeping in touch and for the extra info.

We're constantly aiming to improve the app and the overall experience, but keep in mind that the app for watches is limited to what they can do compared to a mobile app and the best experience comes when paired up with a phone.

The features and available sections can vary across models and OS. If you'd like to have a particular section or feature, we suggest searching our Idea Exchange board to see if anyone else has already suggested that, or submit your own idea if there aren't any. You can find the steps to submit a new idea in this article.

You can also read more about how feedback on ideas reaches Spotify here.

If you have any questions, the Community is here for you.

Cheers!
