So, how can I make Spotify use SD card without trouble?

Spotify is a major part of my everyday life. I'm close to the limit when it comes to downloaded songs, which means that I need to use my SD card to store the files. However, Spotify has now started acting up the same way it did on my old phone. "Forgetting" the offline songs (even if they're still there), which means I'll have to reset the app, deleting the cache and download all over again (thank god that I have a decent connection available). 

Any tips to how I can avoid this?  I'm using Android 7.1, if that has anything to do with it.
