Songs Skipping on Samsung Galaxy S8

My Question or Issue

  1. On my galaxy s8, every other song is skipped. It doesn't matter if it's  in an album or playlist, they just refuse to play unless I specifically click on them. I used to have an issue where songs would just stop every few seconds but that has since stopped. I already have to redownload all my music/podcasts whenever there is an android system update, so if I can avoid having to do a clean reinstall, I would like to. I've tried switching my battery to not be optimized, and the problem persists. If there is no other option, I'll reinstall and download everything again, cause this is just really annoying.

Hey there @Bdilly1!

Welcome to the Community and thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Could you try restarting your phone to see if that makes any difference for you?

If you still experience this, it might be caused by an issue with your device's cache. We understand that you'd prefer not to download your tunes again, but performing a clean reinstall of the app with the steps here should help solve this.

If you use an SD-card it's also worth checking if the card is formatted as external storage before re-downloading your songs to avoid future issues.

We'll be on the lookout for your update. Give us a shout if you have any further questions.
