Songs from playlist will just stop playing on Galaxy S8+ after recent update???

Version 8.5.42.812. Never had this happen prior to this update. have tried everything. Sometimes they stop and then start again. sometimes stop completely, sometimes app shuts down. This eve happens after I have NOT optimized for battery., have enabled ALL permissions and even if playing in offline mode. What is up? Very annoying. May get through a couple songs but then it will just come back. It is a large playlist 4.2GB and on SD card but as I said it didnt start doing this until most recent update above. Any ideas?
