My Question or Issue

When i restart my phone, I am able to use my Sonos speakers via Spotify Connect. After leaving my wifi (eero) and returning, I am no longer able to see my speakers until i restart the phone. Starting in probably ~February 2023, all android devices in my house have this problem but nothing else (macos devices, etc).

This has been happening for about a year. I figured yall would figure it out and patch the update. After waiting this long I am so fed up that I am considering switching services.

This never happened with my S21 or S22.

All devices are up-to-date (router, android, sonos app, spotify app). I have tried restarting the apps, reauthorizing, removing the account and re-adding, force closing the apps. Nothing works except restarting which is obnoxious.

Please help. I have used spotify for probably 10 years and i dont want to switch but I am so frustrated

Hey @drewmullen,

Thanks for reaching out!

In order to get to the bottom of this, we'd like to do some investigating here 🙂
Have you tried using a different network? It looks to me like this is either a network issue or something on our part.
To rule out any network-related errors, could you try using a different Wi-Fi network to connect the devices? A mobile hotspot should also do the trick.

In case the issue persists after that, we'll gladly pass down the info so that it can get looked at backstage.
To do that, we'll also need:

  • A list of the affected mobile (and, if applicable, desktop) devices and their OS versions
  • Your exact current Spotify app versions
  • The affected Connect speakers

We'll be on the lookout for your reply. Many thanks!

Up to date with all the software.

my solution was to switch to iPhone... been working great NGL

Hello everyone,

Thank you for joining the conversation.

If restarting the phone fixes the issue for a moment, it's possible that some damaged cache could be affecting the proper behavior of the app. So in this case, we'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps mentioned in this article

If the issue persists, would you mind confirming if you've tried the troubleshooting previously mentioned by @Vasil? If not, give it a try to see if it makes any difference.

Let us know how it goes.
