My Question or Issue
This issue started about 1 or 2 weeks ago. After a period of time goes by where I have not used the Spotify app (think like going to sleep then waking up and trying to load the app on the way to work), it will not open or even respond to my touches on my phone's home screen. I can long press to uninstall/remove, I can even manipulate app setting via the android built in app manager...BUT I cannot open the app once this reoccurring bug decides to show up. The only fix I have found is rebooting the device in order to rid my phone of the issue.
Worth Nothing:
1. I store spotify externally on a MicroSD card which is in otherwise perfect operating condition.
2. I've done all the basic troubleshooting which Spotify and other tech support recommends.
3. I'm a relatively advanced technology user so please do not be afraid to throw anything at me to try as a remedy. I am desperate here.
4. When the bug occurs, the Spotify App on my homescreen initially shows the green and black logo as usual, but upon pressing it twice or thrice, it shows a blueish grey android logo, which I believe is indicating the phone is having trouble communicating with the application files.
The following has already been completed (some more than once):
- Reboot
- Wipe Phones cache partition from bootloader menu
- uninstall Spotify and reinstall
- logout of my account and sign back in
- go into my phone's root directory and completely erased any trace of Spotify's existence then clean install
- tried a different device with same SD card.
- tried different device with different SD card (Samsung S22 ultra and Samsung ZFlip 4 both Canadian models both running Android 13)
- tried storing Spotify on my internal storage and repeating all of the above while it was there
-and many other things such as using Android Auto to attempt to wake Spotify etc...
Please help me solve this issue. I am a very long time Spotify premium customer since the first year your paid tier launched. I am very grateful for any help anybody in the community can provide me. Thank you and have a happy new year 🎆
