My Issue

I am currently using a free account, and it is signed in on my PC at home, as well as on my phone. I bike to work and frequently go for walks, and when I'm not home I like to listen to music. However, Spotify can only consistently get through a single song before it starts screwing up. What happens is that it pauses my music and brings up the Spotify Connect message box. It tells me "You are listening on your PC. {Continue} or {Listen on this phone}. It's a catch 22. If I hit Continue, obviously my music stops playing and presumably begins playing at home. If I hit Listen On This Phone, it ignores it, and brings up the message box again a second later. I'm not on the same network as my PC, my computer is asleep though the desktop application is still signed in. Once this starts happening I can't seem to fix it.

How can Spotify not tell that I'm listening on my phone? I understand that I can force my PC to sign out, but the point of an app is to be convenient - I shouldn't have to babysit it. I am thinking about buying Spotify Premium, but unless I can get this problem fixed, that's not going to happen.
