My Question or Issue

When streaming an album via connect I‘m experiencing lags on the last quarter of the second song which is streamed. It‘s always the second song, only when streaming an album. When streaming radio or a various playlist, the issue does not appear.

I first thought about my WiFi or general internet connection. But the issue is reproducible on 2,4 or 5 gHz as well as on cabled connection.

It only appears when using Spotify Connect.

Streaming directly to my mobile or iPad works properly, as well as streaming to PS4 or PC.

Any idea what this is or how to solve it? I want to listen to connect again.

Hi,
Since a few months, when using Spotify Connect on any of the following devices (RX-V579 / R-N402D / MusicCast 20) in association with two different iphones, one mac and a linux, I experience lag after a few seconds / minutes of music playing.
Commands are stuck, the music is starting and stopping every seconds and the issue can be fixed for a few minutes and will start again after that. Everything is working fine when using airplay or Bluetooth or jack.

When this happens, on my iPhone UI, the time bar is stuck at the end of the song even if the song is still half through.

At first, I though it was my router, I change from a livebox 3 to livebox 5 and now a brand new Orbi rbk50 and I still have the issue. My internet connection is stable 400mbts up and down.
Obviously, all my device are up to date with latest release.

Regards,
Thomas

Hi folks,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community.

In the past days we've received reports about issues with Yamaha receivers and many have concluded that these started after a firmware update. Can you confirm if this is the case for you?

Also, we'd like to confirm if the same issue happens if you stream to a different device using Connect or if it only happens with the Yamaha receiver.

Keep us posted.

Hi,

in my case I can only confirm it on the Yamaha receiver. All other equipment I use is working totally fine.

I'm not sure about the firmware update, as I'm not totally sure when I’ve installed the last one before.

I’ve installed version 1.48 on my receiver last weekend. The issues have been there definitely for a longer time.
That's why I thought it’s maybe a good idea to update right away.

Same issue here with RX-V6A.

Since 10 days more or less Spotify connect won't work although I've tried with 2 different Android phones. Have installed firmware 1.48 but that was before the problem occurred. Also tried setting up static IP and disabling DHCP but still nothing.

Would be very grateful if there are any suggestions. It is quite annoying.

Since the 1.48 update Spotify Connect no longer works for me.

I can see the device in the Spotify app, but it never establishes the connexion: the icon flashes in grey for a while and after a while (timeout I suppose) it stops trying and keeps streaming on my phone.

Thing is I have another Spotify Connect compatible AV (a Denon 2300) and when I connect to the same ethernet connexion there is not issue with it.

For the sake of testing I tried switching to manual DHCP and IP but it didn't fix.

I did contact Yamaha but their issues support seems pretty archaic.

Problème identique aussi sur mon RX-V481 et MusicCast 20 depuis mise à jour firmwares en 10/2021. 😡

Ecris à yamaha, aucun retour depuis 40 jours..

I am having the same issue with my Yamaha RX-V383.  I changed the songs will stop playing randomly then pick up again.  Previously when I would advance to the next song it would start right up, now there's a 10-11 second delay before it starts. I went and purchased a new Roku (2022) and the issue continues.  I've done all the updates on both devices and I am beyond frustrated at this point.

Hi there folks,

Thank you for taking the time to reply in this thread.

We've taken a closer look backstage and we can confirm that this is API related and beyond us,

If you need help with anything else we're always one post away.

Have a great Friday and start of your weekend.

Live, love, laugh and listen to music 🙂

Issue is still observed on yamaha rx-v683. According to this thread, it is over a YEAR, since it has started and still no solution. Please take up this problem.

Still the Same problem! It lags so much and sometimes it loses the connection!
