Spotify Premium on Google Home (Android 14, April 2024)

I can't seem to link my Spotify Premium account to the Google Home app.
I've followed the instructions that are listed via Spotify, however my Home app looks different than the one described by Spotify (for example, I don't have a '+' in the top left of the screen, nor an actual Home page).
The Home app allows me to link to a free version of Spotify only, despite automatically detecting my Spotify account, which is 100% the Premium version.
All I want to do is to be able to ask Google assistant to turn on my TV (Chromecast with Google TV) and shuffle my 'Liked Songs'.
Any assistance much appreciated; Spotify Premium customer for several years now. Thanks.

There might be a compatibility issue between your Spotify Premium account and the Google Home app. One possible solution is to try unlinking and relinking your Spotify account within the Home app, see if it resolves the issue.
