Spotify Shuffle Play doesn't work

Ever since this new update, shuffle play only shuffles from the first 10 or so songs on my playlist. It is very frustrating. Also, I cannot find any way to search playlists for specific songs. Overall, this update is complete rubbish. Please go back to the old ui, it was basically perfect.

I've been having the same problem since late November. I spent days emailing with the good folks at Spotify, but they seem to have no idea what's causing it. And I also hate the new UI. The Android app has become unsuable for me.
