Spotify connects to another device in a different location when out

Spotify connects to another device in a different location when out

My Spotify, when using Bluetooth headphones, will just randomly connect to another device at my home such as my Alexa when I'm at work or gym. I'm not on the same network and on this occasion I haven't been near the devices in 3 days. There is no reason it should stop on my phone and start on my Alexa. The home is empty and I don't touch the devices button on the app when I'm out.

Hey @Fabahan,

Thanks for reaching out.

Can you please let us know the following:

  • The model, OS version and Spotify version of the devices this is happening on.
  • The exact steps to reproduce it.
  • Does it happen with all types of content or with specific ones (music/podcasts)?
  • Have you tried reinstalling the app on your phone or re-pairing your headphones?
  • Do you have another Bluetooth device you can test this with?

Looking forward to your reply.

Yes I have tried reinstalling.  I'm on Motorola g9 play. Version 8.8.4.518. I only listen to music really so wouldn't know. I only have these headphones for the gym and for work. I don't know what you mean by steps to reproduce it, it just happens whenever I have been listening for about 10 20 mins and jumps to another device and I have reselect it.
