Hey there,
Thanks for reaching out! The described behaviour is odd indeed.
You've mentioned you've reinstalled the app but have you gone through the steps for a complete clean reinstall? If not, I'd suggest trying that first.
We did also have a technical issue yesterday that has since been fixed, so that might have been the cause for your situation as well.
Would you mind checking how the app behaves now?
Much appreciated; we'll be on the lookout for your reply 🙂
Hi Vasil,
decided to give it more time. unfortunately, with no luck.
I've tried everything. complete clean reinstall, cleaning memory, speeding up my phone (observing no issues with other apps, just issues with spotify). Went through all possible websites/tricks/yt movies. I also did the latest spotify update - again with no luck, as app works as bad and slow as before.
It is the same every time when I open spotify (not related to ad hoc technical issues spotify has from time to time). I went through multiple other posts of xiaomi users and seems like same issue occured in older MIUI verion (using 14 now). Does spotify plan to do fixes for that?
What else can I do? Basically, I am paying for something that do not work and I really don't see a ligh in the tunnel.
Hey @Julia_Bug13,
Thanks for keeping us in the loop.
So, we'd like to gather some additional info. Just to confirm, has the app always been behaving like this on the Xiaomi device, or does it start to happen after a specific event, such as an OS update? Please send us the details about it.
On another note (and just to check), is there an external SD card installed on your device? If yes, try removing it and clean reinstalling the app (see the steps to do it here), making sure it is installed in the internal memory of your device. Make sure to use the app without inserting the SD card again. Let us know how it goes.
Lastly, is this happening on a different mobile device? It’d be awesome if you could check. You can ask for the mobile device of a relative or friend to open your account and check. This is very important to us since it'll help us isolate your inconvenience.
Keep us in the loop!
Hello, I have to mention I have encountered the same issues, except the crashing, but the loading times are very long and sometimes won't even load after hours 😅.
My device is a Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro.
best regards

My Question or Issue
Spotify always lags/freezes and heats up my phone (a lot) it gets quite hot as if I was playing a game. It also causes my phone's operating system to freeze/crash from time to time. It doesn't do it straight away but maybe 5-10 mins.
And it is not a issue with my phone and I know it's not because I'm a very knowledgeable in IT. Reinstalling Spotify, clearing cache and factory resetting device are simple standard troubleshooting steps that didn't help.
A constant issue that has never been resolved happening for 1 year that had affected many users who have also reported this on forums and in the Google play store. I'm trying to reiterate this to get the word out there since it has not been resolved yet. It also happens if accessing downloaded offline music.
Seems to be an optimization issue which I do understand due to the amount of android phones but after 1 year this issue would be expected to be fixed. Though in essence, due to the poor optimization it causes higher processor usage thus heat creation but also memory leaks in the code leads to unoptimized RAM usage which has a knock on effect on the Android OS performance.

My Question or Issue
My app is lagging a lot. I cant even change songs or scroll through my playlist.
The lag started out of nowhere, as I was listening to music fine upto an hour ago.
And being a heavy listener is feels pathetic when songs lag
