Spotify for Android is a pile of junk

Spotify for Android is a pile of junk

I have a new motorola smartphone. i have had Spotify premium now for about 5 years. I have blocked all updates on my laptop since version 8.5 as i consider Spotify has been rubbish since that version which i would guess is a couple of years now. However, i thought i would install it on my new phone. What a pile of junk. It never works and i get countless error messages or blank screens or revolving green circles. I guess i'll uninstall it and not bother. Thanks Spotify for once again reinforcing my low opinion of your application.

Please read the guide linked below for details on getting a completely clean install of the Spotify app. This should be the first step and can help resolve issues such as:

- Black screen on startup
- Offline data not storing on SD card
- Random crashes or FC's
- Track degradation or skipping
- Playlists and tracks no longer available

I've tried the complete reinstall and all the other fixes. Why don't they just get it right so that it works? After all that is what i pay for. An application that actually works. It is not my responsibility as a customer to fix their garbage,

What phone do you have? Does it take an SD card as I'm seeing a lot of issues where people have taken the SD out of their old phone and put it straight into a new one. This can cause issues if not wiped, if this is the case can you backup your data, uninstall Spotify and then format the SD in your phone.

After this, try re-installing the app.

It is a moto-e smartphone. The SD card is brand new 32GB. I had problems initially when it wouldn't write offline playlists to the SD card. I managed to sort that out and it was okay for a while. Then it started with the error messages and sayying spotify wasn't working even after i uninstalled it lol. To be honest i've given up with it on my phone. I'm just not going to bother. I've had the phone a month and Spotify has been nothing but a pain. Up until two years ago i thought Spoyify was great and always recommended it to my friends and colleagues. That is now far from the case. I stick with it on my laptop because i use version 8.5 and the Spotify music library is expansive. Apart from that the user experience seems to have become a nightmare. Thank you for your help and advice Daniel.
