Spotify not connecting to google home

I have  long had the issue where spotify will not connect to google home....it just says connecting,   This was previously on a Huawei P20.   

Upgraded to a Samsung S20

Same thing - Does not connect - Says Connecting  and never establishes a connection.  

Help  please

Can you try restarting your router to see if that makes a difference for you?
 
We'd also recommend giving this a try on a different network, for example you can start a hotspot of your phone and use that network.

It's also a good idea to restart your Google Home and make sure it has the latest firmware updates.
 
Lastly, we just want to double check if you have the possibility to ask a friend or a family member to log in on your device and give this a shot.

No. this is not a router issue. This is a Spotfy issue.

Many on here have the same issue. Ive now had two different phones - and cannot connect. For two years now.

To clarify - router and home have all been restarted. Why is it so many people on here have reported the same issue
