Spotify not playing through Google Cast

As of this morning I cannot connect Spotify to my Google home speaker. Other apps connect fine but Spotify won't. I've tried clearing the cache on Spotify, restarting both my android phone and the speaker. Spotify and Google Home are both up to date according to Google Play.

Thanks for reaching out on the Community & kudos for the troubleshooting you've tried so far 🙂

Just to make sure we cover all bases, could you try re-linking the Google Home device to your Spotify account? You can do so by following these steps:

1. In the Google Home app, tap Account in the top-right.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Under services, tap Music.
4. Tap UNLINK.
5. Restart the app.
6. Link the Spotify account again.

It also worth giving your router a restart to if it makes any difference. If possible, it would great if you could give another internet connection a shot as well.

Should the issue persist, could you let us know if you're seeing any specific error messages? Feel free to send us a photo or video showing how things look from your end when you try to connect to the speaker.
