Spotify (or Android) not playing nicely when 2 bluetooth devices are connected

Up until 2 days ago, when two bluetooth devices were connected to my phone (Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge - Android v 6.0.1), everything was fine.  It would switch to the newest BT device encountered and either continue to play seamlessly or possibly require me to push the play button in Spotify (version 7.5.0.1076).

Now when a new BT device connects, Spotify just continually skips songs until I disconnect from all but ONE BT device. 

PLEASE fix this...getting in and out of the car causes this to happen EVERY TIME.
