Spotify randomly stops playing.

Spotify randomly stops playing.

Hi, im using an Motorola Moto Z Play edition with Android 6.0.1 in wich i have Spotify Premium. I have installed the 7.2.0.1250 version of the app at the moment of writing this post.

I have some playlist downloaded into my phone for playing in my car during my commutes, almost everytime at least 1 song will randomly stop play, the only solution is to simply skip the song, but this has been becoming an increasing issue with more songs doing this, for example this morning the appe refused to play almost half of an album that is in a tiny 24 songs playlist...a playlist that i listened to just 5-6 days ago.

This happens no matter if i have the device locked or im using waze or simply the screen is turned on. I have no battery optimization apps nor any taskmanager.

The strange thing is that the songs that always do that are the same, i have find the work around of looking for the track in another album and replacing it for the one that is giving me trouble, but that is not always possible and is a pain to do.

Strangely enough, the music plays just fine when im not in offline mode and im connected to either the 4g or wifi network, but that defeats the purpose of having the music downloaded to my device isn't?

I've alredy did the next things to try and find a cause without luck:

1.- Removing all the data, uninstalling the app and downloading only 1 playlist.

2.- Removing all the data, uninstalling the app and downloading only 1 album.

3.- Using the Aux connector on my car stereo instead of a bluetooth pairing

4.- Keeping the screen always on on my device

5.- Keeping the spotify app open

6.- Keeping the spotify app on the background while running other app (facebook, waze, android auto)

7.- Downloading the song to either a SD card or the internal memory.

8.- Disabling all the notification sounds and leaving the sound of the app only to half the volume

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hi. It does sound like the spotify cache is getting corrupted somehow. Are you using an external SD card for spotify storage? If so, is it formatted as portable storage and not internal storage (you can check in android settings > storage).

As stated in my first post, it doesn't matter if the music is downloaded to the internal storage or the SD. The SD is formated as portable/external storage.
