My Question or Issue
Got an S21 Ultra a few weeks ago. Ever since, Spotify is almost always saying it is offline, and that there is "no internet connection available". HOWEVER -- it will let me listen to any music or podcasts that are in my library. It will NOT let me select a song from a playlist, album, etc., but will play if I start it with "shuffle play", at which point I can turn off shuffle and skip through the tracks as normal.
Every other app on my phone accesses the internet just fine at all times.
I have updated the app, uninstalled and completely reinstalled multiple times. I have turned "offline mode" on and off several times. I have cleared the cache. Nothing makes a scrap of difference -- approximately 80% of the time, it starts up like this and nothing seems to make a difference. The other 20% of the time, it starts up JUST FINE, but eventually the stated problem always crops up, whether I'm sitting still at my desk connected to the wifi, driving around with a strong 5G connection, anything in between.
Attached is a screenshot.
Same, I'm thinking of switching to apple music, it's pricing and service is good(even on android and Windows) and hopefully without this service disabling issue. I not only cancelled my subscription but I'm thinking of switching. As its been ages since I reported and even more since I started having it, rather my other family members also on samsung are facing it as well! All of them on A series (A52s and A53).
I've been using Spotify Premium for around 7 years now, and the only real issue that I ever had was music pausing randomly.
I did ALL of the suggested "fixes", but none of them worked. Turns out it was a bad update that caused the issue.
I do wish that Spotify would make previous versions available for when something like that happens.
Regarding your issue, the only time I've seen "internet not available", was when my device was switching between WiFi & Cell Data. Which shouldn't matter anyway, if you have Spotify Premium & all the music has been downloaded to your device.
Yep but very annoying cause even when I had premium it won't update my Playlist on phone even after I added them through my pc/mac. Neither can I browse anything other than home screen suggestions.
And my issue is still there even if I travel hundreds of kilometers (literally) and switching to other wifis as well. Quite annoying indeed, cause its literally all the time. So basically when I had my premium it would only play Playlist songs list downloaded when it was updated a few months ago. It just really discourages me to get/continue a subscription if this issue is still laying dormant with their updates.
Hi, I happened to use VPN once and eversince my spotify phone app keeps telling me no internet connection when connected to my wifi, which previously was never the issue eventhough i am not using the vpn anymore. Any help?
Check the permissions for Spotify. You can also go to Settings > Apps & Check "Battery" to make sure it's not being "Optimized". Also check to see if Spotify has Data usage permissions.
Try Uninstalling & Reinstalling Spotify - I know it's a pain if you have lots of downloaded music - But maybe it'll fix the issue for you?
Spotify help is stupid. I have the same problem using my home wifi from spectrum. It has nothing to do with 5g or 4g lte+. This happens regularly to me. I clear the cache & restart my phone & usually that works. I've been doing that for about a yr. I just got updated to android 11 on my Samsung galaxy a51.
Hello.
I am having the same issue on my samsung galaxy s21 ultra 5g (SM-998U1 us version with android 12 last build from 12 july). I am based in france).
It works using wifi connection.
When, I am using 4g I get the "internet connection not available message".
I tried :
-complete reinstall process
-disabling Lockheed screen workaround
-disabling private Dns
-I check the apps autorisation
-I check the battery optimisation parameter
None has worked so far.
Spotify Web apps on a Firefox private tab is working using 4g mobile data.
I am a premium user and this is really anoying
Still the wifi can't load lyrics from musixmatch. Any idea on it?
I have an A52 as well, but the 4G version, and I have the exact same issue.

My Question or Issue
App does not recognize the internet connection that works fine on browser or other apps. I uninstalled, reset my phone, and reinstalled. Open app, asks for email and password, it says: "You're offline - Check your connection and try again". I try on wifi and data, same thing. When I was in the app before I couldn't access anything because it said there was no connection. I turned off my VPN and my DNS and restarted the phone, app logs in. Go to search, select Jazz, and says no connection. Change DNS to completely off, select Jazz, it works now.
So, I have solved my own problem but I'm gonna post this in case someone has a similar problem or Spotify would like to look into this problem.
I was facing similar issue on my S21 FE. I used below method to solve my issue. Now it's working fine.
Go to Settings -> Connections -> More connection settings -> Private DNS
Select Private DNS provider hostname
Then Type : DNS.google
Click Save
The only time I have seen this, is when my device is switching between WiFi & Data. It does not really make sense though, as I am playing downloaded music on Spotify Premium.
Thank you minhaaz. This worked for my S22+
**bleep** minhazz it worked for my samsung m51 thanks its been an issue since I bought the phone.
Thank you minhaaz!!! Can't believe the spotify team was not able to help for years!
Unfortunately the fix was short lived. The "not connected to internet issue is back", combine now with a new one: I get stuck on the logo page until there's a message "app not responding"...
Hey @f_1rd-har6x3s,
So far we weren't able to reproduce the issue on our end, so we'd recommend reaching out to your phone's manufacturer and asking if there's a specific setting on your device that might be causing this behavior.
Let us know how it goes.
Fixed: Turn off Enhance at the top of the Playlist.
It doesn't work for me anymore.
Spotify, you owe me! Now get fixing.
Also using 1.1.1.1 app fixes the issue.
